SGIA Grade 12 Student Wins

Harvard Model Scholarship

Christoper Cia, a current grade 12 student from Sekolah Global Indo-Asia was awarded a full scholarship to join the prestigious Harvard Model Congress Asia on January 2017.

The award is given to deserving students who wish to foster their love for debating, discuss solutions to current issues, and embodies the attribute of a future leader. Christoper submitted a written essay, video essay about a current issue in Indonesia, references and his academic and non-academic records.

Mr Andrew O’ Donohue, the scholarship committee chair of the Harvard Model in the award letter said “it is clear that Christoper has shown dedication and determination in his studies. We were very impressed to hear about the challenges he has overcome and how much he has contributed to her school and its HMCA organization.”

The annual HMCA is a program of the undergraduate students at Harvard University. This is the 3rd time SGIA is joining such event. Each year, HMCA is attended by about 600 students from various international schools in Asia. The HMCA 2017 will be held at the University of Hongkong in Hongkong on 5-8 January 2017.
