Grade 1 PYP Assembly: A Celebration of Learning
Grade 1 students took the stage with confidence and joy as they shared their learning during their PYP Assembly. With the transdisciplinary theme How the World Works and the central idea “The Earth’s position in the solar system regulates life on Earth,” students thoughtfully presented what they had explored throughout the unit.
The assembly featured a vibrant blend of music, storytelling, and informative presentations. Students opened with a charming rendition of Twinkle Twinkle Little Star in Mandarin, followed by a dramatic performance of the Indonesian folktale Putri Bulan dan Pangeran Matahari. Their lively presentation of the Firefly song brought even more energy to the program, and their shared facts about the sun, moon, and Earth highlighted the depth of their understanding.
This event provided a meaningful opportunity for students to demonstrate their learning in creative and engaging ways. Audience members were not only entertained but also gained insights as they learned alongside the children.
The Grade 1 students worked diligently to remember their parts and perform with enthusiasm. Their smooth, joyful presentation reflected both their hard work and their growing communication skills. It was truly a wonderful celebration of learning, inquiry, and confidence.
