Learning Beyond the Classroom!
On 17 October 2025, our Year 5 students took their inquiry on economic activity to the next level under the transdisciplinary theme How We Organise Ourselves.
As part of their exploration, they travelled to Singapore to experience real-world learning through two exciting activities:
💰 Financial Literacy Workshop — At the Tsu Chi Humanistic Youth Centre, students engaged in hands-on lessons about money management, budgeting, needs and wants, and becoming smart, responsible consumers for a sustainable future.
🍱 Visit to Seyu Food Pte Ltd — Students had the opportunity to step inside a catering factory to observe how supply and demand influence production, and how businesses manage stock efficiently to keep operations running smoothly. They also discovered how the company understands market trends and customer preferences, maintains strict hygiene standards, ensures food freshness, and applies effective marketing strategies that have helped them stay strong and relevant in the industry until today.
This authentic learning experience helped our young learners connect their classroom understanding of economics to the real world — empowering them to think, plan, and act responsibly as future consumers and entrepreneurs! 🌱💼
