Learning About Economic Activity Through Action
Grade 5 Bazaar:
As part of their Unit of Inquiry on Economic Activity, our Grade 5 students became young entrepreneurs during the two-day School Bazaar held on October 21–22, 2025. Through this fun and meaningful event, students learned how people produce, sell, and buy goods just like in the real world.

Divided into nine groups, each team received Rp 400,000 from the school as their starting capital. They brainstormed product ideas, created designs, set prices, and managed their own stalls. From stationery and accessories to toys, food, and drinks, the variety of products showed their creativity and teamwork.
Throughout the bazaar, students practiced real-life skills; budgeting, calculating profits, and communicating with customers. They discovered how businesses operate and how choices and teamwork affect success.
But the best part, they learned that economic activity is also about caring for others. Together, they decided to donate Rp 2,500,000 from their total profit to the Indonesian Red Cross (PMI) Batam Branch, showing compassion and a sense of community. The rest of the profit was shared among the students as appreciation for their hard work and dedication.

The Grade 5 Bazaar was a powerful example of how learning extends beyond the classroom, connecting academic concepts with real-world application and social values. It was not just an economic lesson but a meaningful experience that nurtured our students to become principled, caring, and reflective individuals.
Congratulations to our Grade 5 students for their outstanding efforts and achievements, and sincere appreciation to the teachers, parents, and school community for their continuous support in making this event a success.
