ANPS Maths Competition 2020

The Association of National and Private Schools (ANPS) has partnered this year with Education Perfect to offer the first EP/ANPS Maths Competition.

This 7-day competition is free to enter and suitable for students of all abilities. Running from Monday 28 September to Friday 02 October, this online competition will give students the ability to learn, revise and extend themselves through a range of engaging, interactive Mathematics activities.

By correctly answering questions from a wide range of Maths lessons, students can earn points. They’ll also receive instant feedback on any incorrect answers, ensuring that every student is continually learning. Students can earn personalised digital certificates, be in the draw to win prizes, and be in to earn the recognition of being the EP ANPS Mathematics Champion!

Eleven students from Grades 11 and 12 were able to join with the help of Dr. Amit Badola, secondary Physics teacher and received the following awards.

Grade 11:

  • Athul Krishna Boban – Elite Award

  • Aow Si Li Sara – Gold Award

  • Lee Minwoo – Bronze Award

  • Irene Elsa Arun – Bronze Award

  • Kenisha Tejidanto

Grade 12:

  • Hannah Eva Jacob – Emerald Award

  • Keerthana Ajith – Gold Award

  • Joanna Bertilla – Gold Award

  • Keane Nugroho – Credit Award

  • Angel Sarah Mathew – ParticipationAngela Callista - Participation

According to Athul, after Mr. Amit posted the information about the competition in their group on September 4, he showed interest and signed up for his first Math competition. He also said that the competition was free and accessible wherein you can log in to any device with your account. By attending the competition, he was able to come up with the following learning outcomes.

  • Identify own strengths and develop areas of growth.

  • Demonstrate that with challenges undertaken, new skills are developed in the process.

  • Demonstrate how to initiate and plan a CAS experience.

  • Show commitment to and perseverance to a CAS experience.

  • Demonstrate engagement with issues of global significance.
